
Billow Wood are an Irish folk band rooted in storytelling, close harmony, and textured acoustic arrangements. Drawing from traditional Irish music and contemporary folk, their sound is intimate, atmospheric, and emotionally grounded.
Blending original songs with carefully chosen traditional material, Billow Wood explore themes of memory, landscape, and human connection, allowing space and nuance to shape each performance. Their live shows are known for warmth, musical sensitivity, and a strong connection with audiences.
The band have toured widely across Ireland and Europe, playing at festivals including Toggenburg (Switz) , Schleswig Holstein Musik Festival (Ger), Zeltik in (Lux) and many more.and continue to build an international following drawn to their thoughtful, song-led approach to folk music.
This year their United States tour will see the band perform at festivals including Milwaukee Irish Fest, Dublin Ohio Irish Fest, Chicago Gaelic Park and Lacrosse Irish Fest. In recent years, Billow Wood have also performed at Folk Alliance International, Indianapolis Irish Fest and in esteemed venues such as Raglan Road in Orlando Florida and The Burren in Boston.
Billow Wood have built a strong profile on both Irish and International media, with performances featured on national television including RTÉ and TG4, as well as television broadcasts in Germany and the United States.
Their music has also enjoyed significant radio play across major national stations such as RTÉ Radio 1, Today FM and Raidió na Gaeltacht, along with BBC Radio Ulster and numerous regional and folk-focused stations; they've even received airplay and accolades on American Celtic and Folk radio, including winning a Celtic Listener Supported Radio Award in Chicago.
